Meet Mama Maria Apaza?

Mama Maria Apaza is the last living Inca Alto Misayoc (High Priestess) of her kind, the sacred holder of the Alto Misayoc title—“She who welcomes the Great Spirits.” This title is not given lightly; it is bestowed only upon those initiated at the highest level of Andean spiritual tradition.

Born in Hatun Quigo in the high Andes of Cusco, Mama Maria is a vessel of divine inheritance. As a spiritual guide and ceremonial leader, she has traveled the world to share the heart of her people—the Q’ero Nation, considered the last carriers of Incan prophecy and wisdom. Her presence is a prayer, her breath a blessing, and her path a living bridge between the heavens and the earth.

The Q’ero people live high in the Andes, untouched by colonial influence for centuries, preserving a pure form of Incan cosmology.
