Dr Claudino Perez Torres “Taita Claudino”

Murui Tribe Taita | Doctor | Teacher

Taita Claudino Pérez Torres, PhD, also known as Taita Claudino, is a third-generation chief and respected elder of the Muruy (Uitoto) people of Colombia. Born in 1961 in the indigenous community of San Rafael in the Amazonas Department, he carries deep ancestral knowledge, specializing in the ceremonial use of Tobacco, Coca, and Yagé (Ayahuasca) for individual and collective healing. His mission is to show the world that plant medicine can heal, supporting physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. He is related to the children featured in the Netflix documentary “The Lost Children,” highlighting the role of plant medicine and connection to nature as guidance and support for younger generations.

A dedicated cultural ambassador and medicine man, Taita Claudino has served his community as a leader and advocate, including a tenure as President of OIMA (Indigenous Muruy Organization of Amazonas) and as a member of the Board of Directors of CorpoAmazonia, working to preserve and protect indigenous traditions and cultural heritage. He holds a PhD, and his academic studies in Philosophy at the Major Seminary of Bogotá and the National University of Colombia reflect his commitment to bridging traditional wisdom with contemporary understanding.

For decades, Taita Claudino has shared his healing practices both in Colombia and internationally, offering ceremonies in Venezuela, El Salvador, Mexico, the United States, Ireland, and Germany. His approach is grounded in respect, love, and serenity, guiding participants to reconnect with their divine nature, embrace the gift of life, and experience the transformative power of plant medicine.

During his most recent trip to Mexico, Taita Claudino was detained alongside other Taitas due to possession of Yagé, a traditional Amazonian medicine. The incident garnered the attention of the President of Colombia, who intervened to assist in his release. This experience ignited a profound commitment to the scientific study and documentation of plant medicine, and he is actively seeking a medical research institute or university willing to conduct proper studies. Taita Claudino is prepared to provide all necessary plant medicine to support research that demonstrates its purpose, efficacy, and benefits for humanity.

In addition to his international work, Taita Claudino currently serves as a facilitator and initiator for Authentic UniverseCity, guiding participants in conscious awakening, spiritual alignment, and planetary activation through traditional Amazonian practices.
